This book is a very simple read and created for a younger audience. I found it to be informative and entertaining. My family currently lives in the Detroit area and we have seen Many of Kahn's creations. In the back of the book there is a list of buildings and addresses of some of his greatest work. I plan show many of these places to my kids so they can get a real sense of Kahn's contribution to the city.

I bought this as a present for my nephew, along with a field trip of downtown Detroit, where we spend an afternoon spotting Albert Kahn buildings. He loved it and continues to reread this book! It has the right amount of history, a good story and explains basic architectural terms.

I was really excited to receive this book as I have had many health struggles similar to those of the author. I have chronic fatigue and barely have enough energy to do dishes most days, so I purchased the book under the impression that the recipes would be simple and easy to prepare. I was already alcohol-free, gluten-free, dairy-free, caffeine-free, and sugar-free on my wellness journey, so I knew I wouldn't be in for the shock that some of the one-star reviewers were. In the very beginning she tells her success story and assures you that every step in the book is totally doable and enjoyable, so I dove in with high expectations. A direct quote from the book reads, "I don't want you to be overwhelmed." But a few more pages in, s*** got real. You are completely bombarded with information about what to do to basically replace every single item you own. And, to be fair, most of the stuff wasn't a surprise to me, since I'd already been on a long, slow journey of detoxing and simplifying my life, but it got to be exhausting and depressing everytime I turned the page and I felt bad for people who would be surprised by all this bad news. There wasn't a single recipe in the book that I considered to be easy. And, again, I already had many of the weirder ingredients that most people would need to go out and purchase. All the recipes were just unnecessarily complicated and time consuming. I'm sorry, I barely had the energy to shower today, so no, I will not be making my own coconut "mylk." This book is for people who are already in decent health and just want to fine tune their detox, not for someone with serious health problems looking for a solution. What sealed the two star deal for me was when she actually suggests bringing your own food to a restaurant and having them bring it out on their plates so that you can still have a social life. No. Just, no. All my friends know that when we go out I eat weird things or not at all, and it's all good, but I am not even close to being douchey enough to ask the wait staff to have the kitchen cook my own food for me that I dragged in off the street. Hell, I'd be grossed out if I witnessed a restaurant do that for someone. Isn't that some kind of health code violation? I don't know where that s***'s been, so do not bring that back into the kitchen! Neither doable nor enjoyable. "Whether you work full time, have a family of six, have been diagnosed with an autoimmune disease or other illness or just want to clean up your diet, this section is going to blow your mind." I neither work full time, nor do I have any children and I found this plan impossibly time consuming. I can't even fathom how how a working mother or father would have the time and energy to follow this book, so yes, it did blow my mind. To be clear, there is a wealth of useful information about detoxification in this book (which is why I gave it two stars instead of one), but it was a ridiculously overwhelming amount wrapped up in an awkward sized book with print that was too small. Now that I have it I will reference it from time to time and keep it around for the day when I'm hopefully well enough to "just want to clean up my diet," but the info is nothing that I haven't already found on the blogosphere for free. Save your money.***Edit as of Aug. 2017***I decided this book was a gateway drug for orthorexia and I never did reference it again. A few months ago I got rid of it.

As an avid cookbook "collector" I was excited to add this beautiful book to the collection. I usually read cookbooks from beginning to end and love when I can be engrossed by both content and great food photography. The recipes we've tried so far have been light and delicious and I'm looking forward to cooking my way through the rest of them. The recipes are all essentially vegan so I'll often pair them with small portions of grass fed beef or pastured chicken etc. As a meat eater I still enjoy doing a few plant-based cleanses throughout the year, so this book works perfectly.Be aware that the recipes are heavy on nuts and grains so if you're suffering from autoimmune conditions that require the temporary elimination of these foods to heal, you might want to look for an alternative cleanse that focuses more on high quality proteins and vegetables only i.e. GAPS, SCD or paleo. I try to limit consumption of brown rice based products (rice pastas, wraps, rice flour, etc) due to high arsenic levels and this book does have quite a few recipes that call for these products, however all are easily substituted with things like cauliflower or coconut flour wraps and quinoa or lentil pastas.I always read a lot of negative reviews on cookbooks that contain "unusual" or "hard to find" ingredients, and to that I would say open your mind, experiment with new ingredients and flavors, and don't be afraid to source ingredients online these days! We do not have to limit ourselves to the ingredients at our local grocery stores, the internet has made it very easy to bring the seemingly endless flavors of the world into our kitchens. If you're looking for a cookbook that only contains inexpensive, easy to find ingredients there are cookbooks that cater to this and shouldn't be hard to find (the Whole 30 cookbook is a good example). But opening our mind up to new ingredients within our budgets is a great way to introduce a wider variety of both flavors and nutrients to our diets. All in all I'm very happy with this purchase and I'm excited to continue cooking.

Wonderful, wonderful book. I cannot recommend highly enough. Helped me to get back on track with my health. These recipes take work, yes, there is a lot of shopping for fresh herbs and vegetables, a lot of chopping and blending and roasting, no easy outs here. No quickie protein bar, cup of coffee and on your way. This is better. So much better. After following the first week of her 21 day eating plan. I WASN'T HUNGRY. Maybe for the first time in my life, I wasn't hungry. Yes, I lost weight and that was nice. Yes, my poofy belly flattened out, shockingly so just after just one week of an eating plan. But the more important thing for me was the energy I had and the FREEDOM from the unending cravings for carbs. I just purchased another copy because my first copy is taken apart and spilled on and worn to shreds. Thank you, Amie Valpone.

Best cookbook I’ve bought. I love all the recipes. I’m finding I make way more of my own food now and eat out less.I’m excited each week to pick out my new recipes to try. It’s also been a real eye opener realizing the ingredients in what I thought were healthy foods.To be honest when I first bought the book I wasn’t committed to cutting out much. I just thought I’d try the recipes.After a month long illness that landed me in the hospital with a possible cancer diagnosis and liver injury I decided to commit. My liver has healed, my skin is clear, I have better energy when I stick with it. I’m sold. I love Clean Eating now!

I love this cookbook/ life book. So much great advice to clean out your life and tons of great recipes to streamline your diet. I’ve done this 21 day detox twice and have found both times to be an excellent reset. I use this book as a resource for diet and lifestyle tips. The recipes are great - the millet veggie burgers, the oatmeal squares, the kale Cesar salad and chickpea flour crepes are in my regular rotation.

The Belgariad, the Malorean, Belgerath and Polgara are a sequence of 12 books that I read once a year (because I love revisiting old friends) before a series of moves lost my collection of books to "in a box somewhere". I have been asking for years to get the series on kindle and, major squee, Here they are. I have only one critique. Someone needs to proofread the final type before publishing please. I know for a fact that nowhere in any of Mr. Eddings books has Barak sworn by Belay (Belar, Belar, Belar for heavens sake) Each of the books has at least one such typo that breaks the flow of these books and it just jars my back teeth badly. Please fix. I am so thrilled to have ALL (as they come out) these books with me everywhere I go. Just please proofread again.

This is the 4th book in one of my all time favorite series. I first read it 30 years ago and have re-read it at least once a year since then. I see I have that in common with a lot of the other reviewers. To me, that is the hallmark of a great vs a good book...that you can read it again and again with the same pleasure you experienced the first time. This series is one of the great ones. If you haven't had the delight of reading it I highly recommend you do so. I envy you being able to experience it for the first time. Warning though..it is addictive. But, with these books, then the second series the Mallorean, Belgarath the Sorceror and Polgara the Sorceress there is plenty of material to indulge in.

The Belgariad series is a good YA series (before there was such a thing as YA!). I've read it about a dozen times when I was a teenager and loved them as as well as the Mallorean. I was glad to see them on Kindle (finally!).They really should have had some of the long-time fans proofread these before they release them into the wild. There are a lot of typos caused by the digitization of the novels. It's glaring to suddenly have people's names misspelled for example.They also release the e-books to far apart. I'd rather they take a few months, get really good proofreaders to proof them, and release them all at once instead of crappy paper-to-digital scans spread out over a year.

I have thoroughly and repeatedly enjoyed the storytelling and the characters in this series, and recently turning my kids on to The Belgariad has been a trip. I cannot wait for Enchanter's End Game to make it to Kindle as well. Soon, hopefully?I do have two minor criticisms, though. First, closer attention to proofreading would be appreciated. I get a chuckle every time I read about 'Zakath and boundless "Mallorca." The Islas Baleares are lovely and definitely worth a visit, but hardly boundless. Now Mallorea, on the other hand... Second, the maps are much too small, taking up perhaps a sixth of a page each.And, if you were waiting for that 188th review to convince you to read this wonderful series, here it is. So what's stopping you?

I read this as a kid, and recently re-read it. I'm surprised at how well it held up! It has a great story arc, interesting characters, and was entertaining throughout. I was also surprised at how developed the female characters were, which was pretty unusual for sci-fi/fantasy in this era. I'm glad I picked this series up again!

Castle of Wizardry, part of the Belgariad, was a very enjoyable read. I'd owned the hard copy before but was pleased to get it in eBook form. I re-read the whole series and found it as engaging as I did years ago. I particularly enjoyed the characters, though, admittedly, they were stereotypes of the genre. They were meant to be though and reading their reactions to the same stimuli from each stereotype's POV was entertaining.All in all, I really like the book as much as I had when I read it many years ago. The same can be said for the whole series.

I love this series! I have read it dozens of times over the years, and I was so glad to see that it was finally released on kindle. It's a Great story that never fails to capture my imagination.However, the proofreading on this release is terrible. Characters names and places are misspelled all through the kindle editions. I went back to my old paperbacks to see if the misspellings were there as well, and they were not. So please enjoy the books for the masterwork that they are and ignore the editing mistakes.

David Eddings never fails to deliver a story that is rich in magic, war, love and loyalty. The bad guys are the stuff nightmares are made of, so the bravery and honor shown by the to recurring characters is addictive. This is the ultimate book to learn lean six sigma if you are a beginner. This a combination of lean manufacturing and 6 sigma, put together to eliminate waste in many different ways.I took an entire semester-long class on lean manufacturing in college and didn't understand some of the over-arching concepts as well as this book helped me understand them. This may have been since i now NEED to know it as opposed to then when i had to force myself to learn it.If you are looking to learn more about lean six sigma, then look no further. Well written and not overly wordy introduction. But didn't tell me anything I didn't already know. Would be ok for someone completely unaware of lean six sigma.
