I had several older baskets to sell in an estate sale and had no idea what prices to put on them. Judging on what they are going for on E-Bay, the resale prices in this book are much higher than the asking price of today, but I still found it a useful guide.

I am new to collecting Longsberger baskets, very helpful in identifying items in collection and before purchase as many sellers do not include all information when selling, especially on line. Love it!

I have collected most of the Bentley Guides for Longaberger baskets and the 10th edition is particularly nice due to having tabs to look up certain items. It makes it quicker and more convenient.

Unless you are a zionist or a radical islamist you will appreciate Dr Milton Edward's useful and penetrating analysis of the problems of the Middle East. She has managed to bring academic objectivity to a highly sensitive subject and the chapters on Palestine and Israel are particularly useful for understanding the background to this long standing conflict. Neither the Palestinian Authority nor the State of Israel escape responsibilty for the present impasse and inevitably some of the criticisms of recent actions by the Israeli government have raised hackles in Academe especially in the US where any criticism of the Jewish State arouses ire in certain quarters-the first review above is a classic example of this phenomenon. The section on Iraq is also timely and penetrating and I srtongly recommend this work which, Iam told, is about to go into a third edition.

This book which covers the main mid east arenas of conflict since World War 2 (Palestine/lebanon/the Gulf/ the Kurds/Iraq/Kuwait) is a very valuable background to the events of September 11th (2001). Usama bin Laden needs to be put into the context of Middle East disputes: especially Arab/Israel to understand his motivations. 'Conflicts' includes studies on Islamic fundamentalism, 'Holy Terror' and big power confrontation.This is a timely publication. Slim and concise-good maps and bibliography. The region I know most about in the Middle East is Israel. So let me focus on how poorly this book deals with that nation.It starts by explaining that the Arab-Israeli conflict is the result of competing nationalist agendas. Even this is misleading, given that the Israelis are not trying to get rid of the Arab nations, while the Arab foes of Israel are trying to get rid of Israel. We then are treated to a statement about how sad it is that both Jewish and Arab nationalism appeared at the same time, and that this is why they fought. Well, they did not appear simultaneously. Arabs had been oppressing Jews for centuries. When some Jews became liberated, that annoyed some Arabs, but a desire to get rid of Jewish rights is not the same as nationalism. Israel became a nation in order to defend Jewish rights (and, in particular, to repeal the British White Paper of 1939, which almost completely restricted Jewish immigration to the Levant). If a Levantine Arab nation comes into existence, even now, it will be explicitly to get rid of Israel, not for some positive purpose. That is not true nationalism. It is a bogus claim of nationalism, such as the one made by the Sudeten Germans in the 1930s.The authors continue by saying that Levantine Arabs stood in the way of Jewish nationalism. That is misleading. In fact, many Arabs happily sold their land to Jews in the region (at very high prices, of course). The presence of Arabs in no way needs to stop Israel from existing, just as the presence of Catholics in no way needs to stop America from existing. There is not an inherent need to expel all Arabs or all Jews from Israel, just as there is not an inherent need to expel all Catholics or all Protestants from the United States. Arabs and Jews can both live in a Hebrew-speaking nation.The book then gets into the area of "founding myths." Once again, it does poorly. When it deals with Israeli desires for human rights, it tends to group that with "myths" that may serve a purpose. When it deals with Arab claims to be blameless bystanders to a war of aggression that they started, it tends to group these with "myths" that may serve a purpose. Instead, the focus ought to be on truth.The authors boast that in 1988 Arafat literally delivered an olive branch to the UN General Assembly. So what? His gang was still fighting a war against Jewish rights. If I give an olive branch to the UN General Assembly, do you suppose the authors will support my, um, right to take over the Levant in the name of the Roman Pagans who were displaced from it?The authors discuss the intifada and the reporting of it, and wonder whether it has brought peace any closer. And they imply that the media did a good job. But in fact, the media happily showed PLO propaganda more often than not, and also gave this propaganda undeserved credibility. I think media dishonesty in fact has made peace more difficult to achieve.I do not recommend this book.

I was expecting much more. She just does not have the lurid, purple dash in her writing style that John Stark Bellamy II had in his Cleveland historical crime and disaster books, both dramatic and sympathetic to the victims, without ever stooping to trashiness. In Turzillo's book, the photos are great -- sad and spooky, but I expected much more about the tragic Parma schoolteachers' murder of 1921, and the author does not even speculate what could have happened or what the motives might have been for murders or disappearances in ANY of the cold cases she covers. The chapters are too short, too dry, and she leaves the reader with a sense of unfinished disappointment. It just sounds like flat reporting and nothing more. That's too bad, I'd really been looking forward to this book.

I like that this holds 2 quarters for each park (2 slots, for D & P collectors). But that's it. It is a simple design...nothing fancy. It has a list of which state each park resides in and you will need to know this when you start placing your quarters into the slots. I've added 2 pictures so you can see what I mean.

This is a " National Parks Folder" so be aware title is misleading, But VERY NICE Folder !!! This folder is far more colorful than others and very nice, I recommend it. But don't mistake like I did that this folder covers a different set of quarters than the National Parks, it does not. However given the choice of buying this folder over the other ones available I do like this one. This covers both Philidelphia and Denver Mints, that's good. Wrote this to clear up any confusion like I had because I bought both this and the National Parks thinking they were a separate series of quarters, they are not. Hope this helps someone else.

I was looking for a good deal on the current America the Beautiful quarters collection, since I didn't start collecting them until halfway through the series, and this seemed like a good folder for them. I was really happy with the size of the folder, it's the size of a normal book basically, whereas my coin folder from the first state quarters set was huge and hard to store. I also really love that it has spots for P & D quarters, so it's easy to see what I need to fill in the collection.As far as the hole size for the quarters, it is tight, but if you push on them firmly you can get them in, so it is functional, just tight. For the price, I think this is a good album for the set.

Great folder, fits coins tightly, and protects them. My 3 year old daughter gets a kick out of it. She gets excited when we get change, and wants to see what kind of "treasures" or "doubloons" we received. Only flaw with the folder is that the slots are labeled by year and state, not by the monument on the quarter. That's not horrible, but it took me a minute to realize what I'm looking at.

Besides the very bad misprint (years duplicated 2x)... nothing a pen can't fix... would have been a 5 star.Probably adds to the value :) Still using it to this day. In the future, prob > 5*. Pen prob doesn't help. Whatever... collecting coins. Recommended. If you get the same misprint - you can prob return - I just kept it. It has CO and PA inserts. So if you travel - try to get change.

The holes into which the quarters go are too small making it impossible to push, squeeze, pound or otherwise jam the quarters into their appropriate spots. By the time I sent it out to my grandson and he waited for his birthday to open it, it was too late to return. With shipping charges and cost of item it was a lot of wasted money.

Great concept with a coin release schedule from 2010 to 2021 - that is the good part. However after a futile attempt to push 6 different quarters into their designated spots, I just gave up. I resisted using a hammer although it might have worked. Product refund requested. very disappointed.

Excellent product. Does its job very well, and very handsomely. My 9-year-old had a wonderful time collecting and inserting all the quarters. Sometimes he needed my help to insert them fully because the slots are very snug. A butter knife or strong fingers will do the trick. Once the quarter goes in, it will not come out without damaging the slot area. I think this is a good thing: those quarters are now for display and they will stay there securely.

This is one of the most fascinating garden books I've ever read. It's also one of the strangest. What's fascinating is that it's full of interesting information on things like the amazingly sneaky way some bushes defend themelves from caterpillars and how aphids enslave ants to do their bidding. What's strange is the dialogue between Mr. and Mrs Gardener that keeps popping up as a transition. Not everyone will like this dialogue (I didn't), but read the book anyway. It's really worth it.

I enjoy reading these type of history books. What made it better was that my alma mater was Ursinus College. I grew up just outside Collegeville but my family never spent much time in Collegeville proper. So I did not know all of the land marks, but it was still interesting. Will add this to my collection of books about the area.

I've got interested in the fourth dimension, so I was looking for some book that could explained in an easy way for a none mathematician and I've found this book. I certainly recommend this book if you're looking to learn more about the fourth dimension. One thing, and perhaps the must important for me, that I learned was to think outside the tesserac.

This book is very easy to understand. It breaks down the fourth dimension into plain language and includes some jokes and humor.

Great book for those studying and understanding four dimentional thinking and reality. Easy to digest and nicely illustrated packing great information.

I'm not a math guy, but I do find the concepts in this book fascinating. McMullen did a *fantastic* job of explaining complex concepts like I'm five (which is a great thing!!). He obviously had a lot of joy writing it, and that's apparent in every word and sentence. The single drawback, the one thing that knocks this two stars down, is that he had *too* much fun. Way too many jokes that run way too long. Every other sentence is talking about monkeys (McMullen uses monkeys as his widget, so to speak). I found it frustrating that I'd have to skip entire paragraphs to get to the actual point that he's trying to make. Here's an example from the start of chapter 5:"Imagine a point located at the origin. Only instead of a point lets call it a 0[Dimensional] banana. Just in case you're sick of monkeys, a banana might be a nice change of pace. If also contemplation of the 4th dimension happens to drive you bananas, it will be quite fitting. (Read this book at your own risk. The author is not liable for any readers who go bananas after thinking about the fourth dimension.)"This is sort of thing is constant, frustrating, distracting, and does not contribute to my understanding of the subject matter. I'd loosely estimate that for every 3 given paragraphs, one is *completely* unnecessary. Further more, because its distracting and frustrating, it also makes the rest of the writing confusing because I have to consciously disregard the jokes to try and glean the point McMullen is trying to make. It's a lot like getting a word problem in elementary school math, where you have to choose which information to ignore and which information is actually important to solve the question. When you combine this with mid-sentence interjections about monkeys, bananas, apples, whatever, it gets even more bothersome.I loved the knowledge in this book. The book was only 83 pages of content (subtracting About the Author, Recommended Reading, Glossary, etc). I just find myself wishing that it was about 45 pages- not because it was too complex, but because I wish all the extra, distracting stuff, was removed.

The illustrations and explanations were great. There was just say too much monkeys, tails and bananas for me! Maybe I,m just too old for the book!
