Very well written. Excellent illustrations. Everyone should read to understand the introvert / extrovert personality. A MUST HAVE for introverts or ANYONE dealing with introverts on a professional level.
I've always been one that's drawn to books, articles, and such that focus on getting to know myself better. As an introvert I also sometimes struggle with advocating for myself and explaining to others who I am. This book is a phenomenal example of helping me do that as well as giving other's the opportunity to understand more about how I function. If you are an introvert, extrovert, working in Student Affairs or not, this book is for you!
I really identified with this book and think it has a lot of wonderful applications to higher education professionals, however they might identify. It can help someone discover more about themselves and can help others learn more about the people around them. I highly recommend it!
This is a very easy read that is well documented and quite introspective and reflective. I especially like the author's use of metaphors to explain and differentiate introversion and extroversion.
There are two sides to every letter and in this book Amma does a wonderful job of showcasing the other side of an extrovert. As an extrovert myself I know that I need my alone time but through this book I truly began to understand my introvert tendencies and how necessary they are to helping me maintain balance to both sides of me. This book is, simply put, an extrovert's other half.
Amma writes with a respectful openness and vulnerability I appreciate. Great introductory read about temperament for I's and E's alike!
Forget the title's focus on Student Affairs; this is a little gem that will help you understand other people as well as yourself. I'm one of those people who has difficulty understanding myself. On the one hand, I NEED lot of alone time; on the other, I do my best work - and am happiest - with other people. Likewise, I'd like to think I am good at empathizing with people who think differently than I do, but in truth I often have a hard time understanding what's happening in the other person's head. This book is an invaluable tool to address both issues.
